Horses Travelling to the US without their Owner Present
July 4, 2011
This is to remind people, with horses going to the US, if the owner is not travelling with the horse to make sure proof of ownership is given to the third party transporter.
The United States Customs and Border Protection may request, in the owner's absence (which is common), some kind of proof of ownership to be provided to the third party transporter for presentation to customs if required.
Recently there has been an instance of a third party transporter being refused entry because of this situation.
