Thursday, June 18, 2009 The first two weekends at Ajax Downs, the new Quarter Horse racetrack have gone off without a hitch! The conditions have been absolutely ideal, and the track has been running fast. It has been interesting to watch the Ajax Downs staff and crew adjust and modify the protocols to allow for a more productive day. Kudos to them for such a smooth transition to this new facility. The horses seem to be adapting well and are racing better than ever. Congratulations to Rockish, 2008 Horse of the Year, and Full Circle Racing, trainer Greg Watson for setting the track record today at a time of 13.01sec over 250 yards, with a speed index of 112!
I strongly encourage anyone, regardless of horse background and interest, to check out this new facility. It is truly amazing to watch these athletes sprint across the finish line!
