Dr. Courtemanche graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College and completed an internship in upstate New York. She joined MPES in June of 2006 and is based out of the Campbellville location. Michelle values the opportunity to develop relationships with MPES clients and their equine companions while helping them achieve their individual goals.

Michelle has been involved with horses for over 30 years. In her younger days she competed in the disciplines of Dressage and Eventing but for the last several years she has been competing in the sport of Combined Driving in Ontario and the US with various Miniature horses. Her current project is a large pony in training for Combined Driving that will hopefully also get her back into the world of ridden Dressage.  Michelle lives in Guelph with her Bengal cat, Mowgli. When she’s not working with her pony she is a leader for the Wild Bettys women’s mountain biking club and loves to go to the gym.

Although she has a special interest in dentistry Michelle also enjoys preventative care, emergency care, sport horse medicine and lameness. She also likes to take part in client education and spend time with upcoming vet students.

Tovah Caldwell, DVM

Tovah Caldwell, DVM

Tovah is originally from Bowmanville, Ontario but grew up in Nova Scotia where she spent much of her childhood as a barn kid, mucking stalls and riding horses.  She graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2009 and completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery at Littleton Equine Medical Center in Littleton, Colorado.  Tovah joined MPES in 2010 and has spent her time with us developing her interests in lameness and sport horse medicine.  She has a particular interest in back and spinal pain as a cause for behavioural issues, poor performance and lameness, and this interest lead her to become certified in both spinal manipulation therapy (Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Center) and acupuncture (Curacore Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians).  Tovah routinely incorporates these alternative therapies into traditional treatment plans to achieve a balanced, well rounded approach to her cases. In addition to sports medicine she also enjoys dentistry, nutrition, and general wellness/herd maintenance.
