Part-time, weekend positions available at McKee-Pownall Equine Services’ newly renovated rehabilitation & reproduction facility located in the hills of Schomberg. 
Option for flexible schedule with respect to number of weekends worked per month and days worked per weekend. 
Duties include, but not limited to:
Assisting veterinarians with weekend treatments
Hand walking
Grooming and tacking up 
Mucking and barn chores
Administering oral, topical and eye medications 
The ideal candidate will be mature, able to work without supervision, have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Experience working with competitive show horses, Broodmares and Foals is required

We are now hiring for a permanent, full time Veterinary Assistant to join our team at our Campbellville Clinic.

As the Veterinary Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting veterinarians by holding, jogging, restraining and preparing horses for evaluation and/or treatment. You will also be responsible for setting up, preparing and maintaining diagnostic equipment.  You will assist in the stocking and upkeep of the clinic facilities as well as the veterinary vehicles.  Occasionally you may be asked to assist with administrative duties such as answering telephones, scheduling appointments, greeting in-clinic clients and processing invoices. Excellent customer service skills, computer skills, and horse knowledge are vital to this role.

Horse knowledge and experience are essential for this role, and your horse handling skills will play a part in the hiring decision.  Please highlight your experience in these areas in your resume and cover letter, along with your anticipated wage.  Please note that resume submissions without an accompanying cover letter satisfying the criteria above will not be considered.
