What Is Digital Endoscopy?
Digital endoscopy uses a flexible fibre-optic camera that allows us to examine the structures in the nasal cavity, throat, and lower airway. The camera allows the endoscopy to be digitally recorded for later review. This is a big improvement over traditional endoscopy systems that just had an eye piece.
Uses of Digital Endoscopy
Digital endoscopy is often used for:
- Screening for abnormalities during prepurchase examinations
- Diagnosing:
- Respiratory illness
- Abnormal breathing
- Unexplained nasal discharges
